Guy Ritchie's 'The Gentlemen' is set to expand its ensemble cast with some notable additions for its third season, currently in production in the UK and Morocco. Joining the series are Orlando Bloom, Robert Carlyle, and Elijah Wood, as reported by Deadline and Variety. This marks a reunion for Wood and Bloom, who previously worked together on the 'Lord of the Rings' films.
The inclusion of these actors introduces a fresh dynamic to the series, which stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass. The storyline for Season 3 involves the duo embarking on an ambitious project to build a casino in the Middle East, escalating the stakes and tension within the plot.
Returning cast members include Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, and Vinnie Jones, maintaining continuity from previous seasons. However, Daniel Ings, who played a significant role as Eddie's brother Freddy, and Giancarlo Esposito, are not listed among the returning cast.
Despite rumours, Meghan Markle will not be joining the cast. The absence of these actors and the addition of new ones like Dexter Fletcher and Bruna Marquezine suggest a shift in the series' narrative focus, potentially offering new storylines and character developments.
The third season will consist of eight 60-minute episodes, produced by Moonage Pictures for Netflix and Miramax TV. For fans of the series, these changes promise to bring new energy and intrigue to 'The Gentlemen,' continuing its exploration of ambition and consequence within the criminal underworld.
